But first a moment for my old bike which was sadly stolen in Paris. It served me well, my humble NZ green "Sub" (Sarah Ulmer Bike). barely ridden in NZ. 4190km through Turkey, Greece, Italy, Croatia, France and Spain. We occassionally had our differences. It liked to lie down when it was tired, sometimes even when I was on it. Occassionally it would throw the front mudguard off. The rear pannier rack slid down in protest and rubbed on the back wheel. Only 1 puncture though!
Goodbye bike. Hope your new owners treat you well and your not like that burnt bike we saw in Paris...
Byrdie outside the bikeshop... It specialised in touring bikes and gear, which she was very excited about. I meant to get a photo with a whole baguette somewhere in France. but they always ended up nibbled at within minutes (or seconds) of leaving the shop... This baguette lost both ends.
I love my new bike. so far. It looks very european with its high, curved handle bars and ladys crossbar. It even came with a red bell and rear view mirror!

I feel like I could wear a dress and high heels on it, like some of the women on bikes in Paris. tempting to buy a front basket for groceries/flowers/pet dog...
It is heavier and has a dynamo light, so will require more effort to ride. I'm apprehensive about our first decent uphill but eagerly awaiting some scenic downhill when I can sit upright and enjoy the views...
I got my first puncture already on the way to the train station... Lots of glass from the previous nights festivities.
