more trains. Netherlands to Germany

The red light district. Actually a very pretty street and canal. Unspoken rule that you don´t take photos of the girls in windows...

Our final day in Amsterdam, we met with Tui. We waited at the arranged spot expecting him to arrive by foot or bike... instead he was behind us in the canal, in his boat. He took us on a canal tour, complete with hot tea and food. thanks Tui! was a lovely surprise.

We took 3 trains to get to Bielefeld, Germany, a place that some say doesn´t exist. We stayed with Byrdies friends Thorsten and Monica, all organised very last minute. Literally that morning Byrdie called them to say we were coming... We were lucky to arrive on a special day that the shops were open late and it had a festive feel...

The following day we got to be part of a large family brunch... was delicious and so lovely sitting in the sun (much warmer than Holland).

We then did another 3 trains to get to Hamburg. Arrived just in time for the European cup final (soccer) between Germany and Spain. Which of course is a huge deal... Germany lost.

PS Hello Nana, I hope you´re enjoying our ´blobs´ :)
