Venice

What a bizarre place... as expected really...

Our initial arrival in the evening didn't go all that smoothly.... we decided to follow camping signs to a campground (on quite major highways). but kept losing the signs... so ended up cycling right into Venice, before going back across the bridge again to find a campground.

Fairly early the next day we headed over the Murano, island famous for glass blowing. we ended up spending hours watching demostrations and in to a ton of glass jewellery shops... most amazing necklaces and earrings... We made the mistake of buying some earrings at the first place we went into and of course saw some more beautiful earrings further along... I bought the typical venetician glass pendant and a unique one. most of our day was gone and we really hadn't seen much of Venice itself. Then back to Venice. Our shopping distracted us so much, we forgot to eat (now, this is a major for us).. so did a supermarket shop and just ate and ate. did lots of cruising on the public boats... and general wandering about over bridges...

stayed another night at our campground... and now just filling in time before taking train to Fentimilgia, Italy. We will cycle from there to Nice, France tomorrow!
