Croatia is bliss!

We arrived in Dubrovnik on Thursday morning. It is a beautiful old walled city in a stunning location. We set up camp and then explored the old city, including the city wall walk which had amazing views.

The next day we cycled out of Dubrovnik along the main scenic coastal highway. Although there is a newer, bigger highway nearby, a lot of traffic still op to take this road, so it was fairly busy (still no where near as bad as NZ north Island roads...). And the views are just breathtaking. Croatia coast is amazing! Blue, blue water. tons of green islands. terracota roofed houses...

We got out on the peninsula, which was much quieter. and still just as beautiful even though it was inland... after 90km we arrived at a small town for camping and found there was none! luckily a friendly local directed us to a closed campground nearby where we stayed for free.

Today we jumped on a ferry to the island of Korcula, which is just gorgeous... heavenly

helps that it feels like summer too. perfect time to be in Croatia, hot enough for swims and icecream (the icecream here is GOOD, and reasonably priced). but not crazy with tourists or too hot.
