Florence

So, today we explored Florence. It was BUSY. Public holiday here and people everywhere. My body and mind were just a bit weary for it today. plus Byrdie doesn't know how to stroll. She strides everywhere like she is on a mission... and pops into every gelateria to check out prices.

There were also large groups of scottish people, here to support a football match. As Byrdie said, Scottish sports fans in a country with cheap alcohol = bad combination. So rowdy!

It is a beautiful city though.... lovely buildings, big river right through it. We plan to get up early to beat the crowds to look some more.

Michalangelo's David; To see or not to see?
Today the museum was closed. Tomorrow it will be open. It costs €10 each and usually there are large queues... we have already seen a few imitation sculptures of David so get the general gist. Byrdies lack of enthuasism is also a factor "that's 5 gelatos"..... On the other hand we are in Florence...
