camping ground right on the river with great view
Yesterday we did a mammouth 11hrs on trains (and at train stations), 5 trains to cross the country from Berlin to Koblenz. Byrdie thought I was slightly crazy coming home at 4.30am that morning... but managed to sleep on train and had reasonably early night camping.
Today we cycled 110km (yep jumping right back into it!) from Koblenz to Mainz along the Rhine river route. Very popular route. the most cycle tourists we´ve seen so far...
Many castles perched on hills, almost vertical vineyards, along the river. lovely medievel towns with tudor style houses...
We are staying with Byrdies friend Thorston again. Mainz is a biggish city and pink.
