Today we did a trip to Macau (see Byrdies blog http://www.kiwicyclist.blogspot.com/). The strangest part was going to The Venetian - An absolutely huge building (the second largest in the world apparently) with Venetian style buildings around and inside a huge area done up like Venice, even with blue skies, canals and canal rides. Cool, but strange. and perhaps tacky.
Tonight we caught up with Nickie-Jean (from high school) and her husband Tiki, and then took a tram ride for the fun of it (only costs about NZ40c).

Byrdie is just looking through photos and deleting some and she accidently deleted one of her that she liked in "Venice". She is obviously overconcerned about using up 2G of memory when we are about to go to Judys and download them anyway!
Tonight is our last night in Hong Kong. Our hostel is a cool place, right in the centre of Mong Kok, a very happening place at night. We have a small room, space is so short that our toilet is in the small shower (apparently pretty standard for apartments here). The manager person (Jacky Chan) is here all the time so must work long hours. Internet and local phone calls are free. Jacky has a pet Chihuahua, which is dressed in a skirt, stockings and top.
By the way our our bikes had more expensive accommodation than us! we left them in storage at the airport. I guess their room may have been slightly bigger than ours...
Off to Taiwan tomorrow... have no expectations whatsoever. I know nothing about Taiwan!
