Hong Kong is Fabulous!

Hong Kong really exceeded my expectations. I've never been to such a populated city, so the sheer number and height of the high rise buildings amaze me.

It really comes to life at night. We've just come back to our hostel, it is 10.30pm and all the shops are open and it is busy. They like their neon lights here. Everywhere... we saw the light show over the waterfront with huge (40+ story) buildings lit in different colours and patterns in time of the music.

And it is clean!! much cleaner than I expected. There is a haziness over the city, I guess smog. But not certainly to me doesn't feel polluted and smelly, as I'd heard it was.

Today we took a cable car up a steep slope upto 'the peak', a lookout. then we got hungry and saw a "delifrance" cafe, but Byrdie said we really should be eating local Hong Kong food. So then an hour or so later after taking the bus down a winding track, we were staving. And in desperation ended up at another "delifrance". nice food though. have also eaten a bit from street vendors...

We also took a very long trip to the giant Buddha. And it is a giant.

Anyway off to bed soon on my very hard mattress on top bunk.

Nice pants Joy... they look a little similar to the Columbia ones I suggested that you get in the first place... lol... Any photos from behind? (I want to see what the back pockets look like of course).
